Room 14 has pen pals. Everyone has someone to write to, some people have two people to write to.We have to set out our writing like a letter with the date and address.We will also get to know about where they come from.
Our first paragraph had to be about ourselves and included our likes and dislikes. It also had to answer their questions. The second paragraph was about our school, mine included my friends, favourite subjects at school and our school camp. Our third paragraph was asking questions that we wanted to know the answer to when they write back.
Room 14 cant wait for them to write back! Its really cool being able to write letters to people because if you think about how often you write a letter to someone it might not be that often, but having pen pals gives us another person to write a letter too.
Hey great to hear you have pen pals Room 14 - I think they are a great idea. It's more interesting when you are writing for a real purpose to a real person, don't you think? Where are your pen pals from? They aren't just kids from next door in Room 15 or Room 13 are they? How did you hook up with them? I'm so nosey I want to know everything! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely more interesting when you have a really good reason to write to someone. Our pen pals are from Florida U.S.A. They aren't from Room 15 or 13, we get to talk to them everyday! We started writing to them because Miss B.T used to work with their teacher when she was teaching in Taupo. They are 7 and 8 years old which means they are Year 4, but that doesn't mean their ideas are not as good as ours.
DeleteHey that's cool. I have been to Florida and it's a really interesting place. I even got to visit where they launch space rockets from - Cape Canaveral. Good on you for recognising that a persons age is no barrier to the way they think and communicate. Will you keep them next year?
ReplyDeleteI think I will keep in touch with my pen pal. I'm not sure about everyone else. It would be cool to be able to go and visit them, and the place where they launch rockets.
